This book talks about to children going on a bear hunt and facing different obstacles trying to find the bear。 By the end of the book they get scared and go back through everything they went through to get there。

We're Going on a Bear Hunt follows the intrepid adventures of siblings Stan, Katie, Rosie, Max, a baby, and Rufus the dog, who set off on an expedition in search of bears, determined to 'catch a big one'。 Overcoming obstacles on the way the fun turns into something more sinister when they actually meet the bear。This book could be used in the classroom to teach the students about onomatopoeia and how they are used in the story。 The students could create a poster and put different words that are c We're Going on a Bear Hunt follows the intrepid adventures of siblings Stan, Katie, Rosie, Max, a baby, and Rufus the dog, who set off on an expedition in search of bears, determined to 'catch a big one'。 Overcoming obstacles on the way the fun turns into something more sinister when they actually meet the bear。This book could be used in the classroom to teach the students about onomatopoeia and how they are used in the story。 The students could create a poster and put different words that are considered an onomatopoeia。 。。。more

A classic that I only recently discovered! I mean, I remember singing the song in preschool, but never knew there was a book。 I keep trying to make it work in contexts for which it is not a perfect fit (online programming, physically distanced programming) 😂 I feel kind of like I’m trying to make fetch happen, but it’s so fun that I keep trying, hoping the families will get into it! Would love to see an update of this book that reflects more diversity。

A small family starts out on a bear hunt, as they walk to find the bear they go through many different places to find it。 They are determined to find a bear and more people join them as they pass by。 This is a pattern and repetition book。I would use this book to help teach motivation。 If students have a dream or something they want to do this book can show that no matter what you have to cross to get it if you stay on that path you will get to your goal。 And don't give up。 A small family starts out on a bear hunt, as they walk to find the bear they go through many different places to find it。 They are determined to find a bear and more people join them as they pass by。 This is a pattern and repetition book。I would use this book to help teach motivation。 If students have a dream or something they want to do this book can show that no matter what you have to cross to get it if you stay on that path you will get to your goal。 And don't give up。 。。。more

This book shares the story of a family as they go across the countryside in search of a bear。 This book is perfect for early elementary classrooms as if utilizes simple concepts such as rhyming and repetition。 Perhaps have students work on visualizing the story by having them draw a scene from the story。

Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury's juggernaut of a success is a classroom and bedroom favourite of children, since Rosen's 1989 rewrite of a folk song he couldn't get out of his mind。 It is wonderfully descriptive, rhythmically repetitive and allows children (of all ages) to really get into the performative aspect of enjoying Oxenbury's very personal drawings and Rosen's words。 It's a book for babies to Primary age children to listen to new words, learn adjectives, create onomatopoeia and make i Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury's juggernaut of a success is a classroom and bedroom favourite of children, since Rosen's 1989 rewrite of a folk song he couldn't get out of his mind。 It is wonderfully descriptive, rhythmically repetitive and allows children (of all ages) to really get into the performative aspect of enjoying Oxenbury's very personal drawings and Rosen's words。 It's a book for babies to Primary age children to listen to new words, learn adjectives, create onomatopoeia and make inferences on the family's emotions as they progress their hunt, and the bear's feelings as the book ends。 The book can be used as a fun way to bring any form of treasure hunt to children's days outside (although I wouldn't recommend a group of children heading into snowstorms or crossing wild rivers by themselves)。 And of course, there are now a plethora of other ways to enjoy the story; sticker activity and pop-up books, theatre and TV presentations and, in a sign of the times, a mobile app! 。。。more

If they want to go on a bear hunt why do they get scared and run away when they see a bear? Doesn’t make any sense。 If their scared of a bear why do they go look for one?

Kristen

I didn’t care for the repetitive phrases in the first half。 I know it’s fantasy, but in one part, the parents have the family walk through a river and then there’s a snowstorm。 How cold was the water and why are your kids wearing shorts? But, then again, these are the same parents who take their kids into a cave looking for bears。

Melanie

The repetition and rhythm of this book make it a firm favourite with my family。 We have also enjoyed acting out the story at times。

With all the hype surrounding this book, I expected it to be much better and make more sense。 The illustrations are good though, so I have to give it a ⭐️ for that element。 I understand the repetition, and I quite like the sounds that are read throughout, but, if it’s such a beautiful day why are they unaware of the snowstorm ? Why can’t they go AROUND anything 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️Why are they hunting a bear ?? Very disappointed

This delightful story about a family looking for a bear is perfect for a preschool story time!

Janae

Fun introduction of a preschool/elementary activity。

Linda

A favourite worth sharing over and over again。 Brilliantly illustrated using a family of 3 children plus a baby and dad。 Perfect holiday reading。

Genre: Poetry, Songs, Verse, Classic Grade: K-2This book is good for teaching onomatopoeia。 There is a lot of repeating in this book too。 This book uses a lot of descriptive words。 There are some pictures in black and white。 It is about a family adventure and at the end it repeats everything in reverse。

It was really boring and repetitive

I like how the baby on the dads shoulders keeps squishing the dads face on every page, very excellent baby thing to do。 “What a beautiful day! Oh look, a snowstorm!”GUYS。 (view spoiler)[the bear just wanted to be friends!! (the last page of this book?? Y’all aren’t even ~close~ to being emotional ready for it)。 (hide spoiler)] I like how the baby on the dads shoulders keeps squishing the dads face on every page, very excellent baby thing to do。 “What a beautiful day! Rosen plagiarised this from an American campfire song, and has dined out on it ever since。Considering he tossed it off in fifteen minutes before lunch (and considering that the lion's share of it is actually the illustration, rather than his banal doggerel) the anti-capitalist, pester-powered, parental guilt-tripping millionaire has done rather well out of it。 Rosen plagiarised this from an American campfire song, and has dined out on it ever since。Considering he tossed it off in fifteen minutes before lunch (and considering that the lion's share of it is actually the illustration, rather than his banal doggerel) the anti-capitalist, pester-powered, parental guilt-tripping millionaire has done rather well out of it。 。。。more
